Troop 7147 Animal Outreach

Aiding animals through education

The Junior Girl Scouts of Troop 7147 from Fate, TX are pleased to create and present this website. It is dedicated to educating residents of the Woodcreek Fate Community about common wild animals found in and around their neighborhood.

These Junior Girl Scouts completed this website as part of their Bronze Award project. The Girl Scout Bronze award is the third highest award in Girl Scouts of the USA. Juniors from Woodcreek Girl Scout Troop 7147 created a website to educate members of their community about common wild animals found in their neighborhood. They wanted these animals to be better understood and protected. Each Girl Scout chose and researched specific animals to find out information about their habitat, hunting/feeding information, and migration patterns. They also included information on how each resident of their community can live in partnership with as well as protect and preserve these animals and their habitats.

These Girl Scouts met and presented their plan and website to representatives of the Woodcreek HOA Board of Directors and received approval for physical signs to be placed at the neighborhood amenity centers. The signs directed residents to this website. The Girl Scouts then enacted a promotional campaign which included social media marketing (with their caring adults' assistance) as well as physical flyers and handmade bookmarks distributed at the several Free Little Libraries found throughout the neighborhood.Â
